Planning For 2030 Begins Now

The United Nations Foundation hosted a series of discussions at the SXSW Social Good Hub located at the Trinity Hall Theater on March 16. Among a slew of abstract concepts being presented by tech companies this year in Austin emerged perhaps the most time sensitive of them all. Leading the panel, “#2030NOW: Innovations for the World We Want hosted by the United Nations Foundation” was Nelson Muffuh, Head of Outreach & Stakeholder Engagement, Post 2015 Development Planning Unit, United Nations who, during the 20 minute session, explained why 2015 is a year for global action. Joined by Aaron Sherinian, Chief Communications and Marketing Officer, United Nations Foundation, Muffuh informed members of the audience that with every 15 year period, the UN identifies actionable goals for the next cycle, asking them to imagine what their ideal world would look like in 2030.
